10 June, 2005: PRESS RELEASE

Toyota Corolla buyers have another reason to smile now: One look at the Corolla and you will know why it is the best-selling car in the World, drive it and you will know why it has been for 32 years in a row. Celebrating the success of Corolla across the world and in India, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced 'Top of the World' contest for Corolla customers. All Toyota customers who buy the Corolla in the next 2 months get a chance to win a holiday abroad.

The first Toyota Corolla rolled out in 1966 and today it is the largest selling car manufactured across 14 countries. Toyota has sold over 3 crore Corollas across 135 countries. It commands a class leadership of 34 % of the discerning executive segment in India with sales of 3128 units between January and April 2005.

Mr. Atsushi Toyoshima, Managing Director, TKM said, "In 2004, Corolla global sales increased by 10% to 1.20 million units and replicating the growth in India the sales increased by 25% to 10,195 units, making it the largest selling car in executive segment in India. Top of the World Contest is our way of thanking our customers for once again making Corolla the number one bestseller in the executive segment."

To increase the excitement, one in every 7th Corolla customer stands a chance to win a prize. Celebrities will pick the names of winners every fortnight after a lucky draw at customer events held in Ludhiana, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Kolkata. The winners will enjoy tickets on British Airways, Air France, Qantas Airways, Emirates, Singapore Airlines and Air Mauritius to various destinations in Europe, Australia, South Africa and Asia. Additionally, 4 (couples) lucky winners will get a lifetime opportunity to fly around the World covering five destinations.

Corolla has been No. 1 in more ways than one. Toyota Corolla has been ranked as best quality car in premium midsize segment by J. D. Power Asia Pacific 2004 India APEAL Study. This result closely follows the results of J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2004 India Initial Quality Study where Toyota Corolla was ranked best quality car not only in Premium Midsize Segment but also across all passenger car segments and achieved the record breaking score by receiving lowest ever problems per car. This score is the best ever recorded in the Indian automobile industry.

The Toyota Corolla also dominated the recently held TNS 2004 Total Customer Satisfaction Ranking survey, which was based on Sales Satisfaction, Product Quality, Vehicle performance and design, After sales service, brand image and cost of ownership of vehicle.

The present, 9th generation Corolla has set a benchmark in styling, comfort and performance in the automobile industry. Toyota Corolla comes with warranty of 3 Years/1,00,000 Km, whichever is earlier and this has set benchmark for the automotive industry in India.
